Biggest threat to stingrays are humans. Why? Because they're overfishing the inhabited areas. Some people want to check off their bucket list to swim with stingrays and they are weaking their immune system. Tourists and boats are injuring them.

There is lack of political will and government structures to provide proper protection. Biggest natural threats are sharks, seals, and sea lions.
